Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
MA, BA (Hons), UKCP

Emma has been working as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist since 2007. Emma currently works in private practice with children, young adults and their families. Emma does one-to-one work with parents and sees adults for individual psychotherapy. She also carries out occasional work providing assessments and written reports for the family law courts. Emma is currently training to become a practitioner in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR). EMDR is an effective way of helping people who are suffering from psychological difficulties arising from traumatic experiences as well as other conditions which may not necessarily stem from traumatic experiences such as phobias or anxiety related issues.

Prior to training as a child psychotherapist Emma worked for a voluntary organisation supporting disabled children and their families. This work included setting up a play scheme for children with autism and ADHD and co-running a therapeutic support group for their parents and carers.

Qualifications: Emma has an MA in Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling and a BA in Fine Art: Sculpture. She is accredited by The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Emma has completed EMDR training Parts 1 and 2.

Testimonials:

"We worked with Emma when we were experiencing difficulties with our nine year old son and cannot recommend her highly enough. Her warmth, sensitivity and nuanced observations were outstanding; our family dynamic improved considerably within a relatively short time and it was clear that our son trusted her implicitly."
