Louise is a qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist having studied at the Tavistock Clinic; The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE) and gained her Masters degree in Integrative Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy at Terapia (Middlesex). She is registered with UKCP & BACP.

Louise specializes in working with children of all ages, helping them to develop resilience and their capacity to respond to challenges with greater flexibility and awareness. She advocates a collaborative, non-judgmental approach to working with parents and schools so that the child’s best interests can be thought about systemically. Louise integrates psychodynamic thinking with the creative arts and supports parents to gain a greater understanding of their child’s development and how to respond thoughtfully to a child’s communications that can often seem hard to decipher.

She currently consults to several independent schools in Central London where she has helped develop their pastoral support and in-house Counselling services. She also provides training workshops for schools and corporate settings. Louise has a private practice in North West London where she sees both primary and secondary aged children, adults; parents; couples and families.

Her clinical experience has involved work with children and their families in a variety of educational settings since 2003 (both in the state and independent sectors). This includes being a part of a multi-disciplinary team in a specialist nursery school for children with speech, language and hearing difficulties, as well as children with a range of autistic spectrum disorders. She has spent six years working as a counsellor with the charity Place2Be. She has been on placements at Great Ormond Street Hospital (Mildred Creek Unit) and NHS Chelsea and Westminster Centre for Psychological Wellbeing, part of the Gordon Hospital.

Previously, Louise worked as a qualified Special Needs teacher, specializing in dyslexia. Ongoing professional training includes psychotherapy with adolescents and young adults who self harm (Tavistock Clinic); couples work (Tavistock Ralations) and systemic/ family work (Anna Freud Centre).

Qualifications: MA, PG Dip in the Therapeutic and Educational Application of the Arts  (IATE); PG Cert in Emotional Factors in Learning and Teaching (Tavistock); SpLD (Hornsby); Registered Member of UKCP & BACP. 

Specialisations: Consultation work to schools; individual and group work with children of all ages; parent and family work; delivering specialised workshops and facilitating work discussion groups.
