Myrto Williams

Myrto Williams
Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
BA (Hons), MA, UKCP

Myrto believes that we all do our best to survive and draw upon whatever is available in our internal and external worlds to create a sense of self. Her method integrates various

psychotherapeutic approaches to ensure her clients’ needs are suitably met. She aims to improve her clients’ contact with themselves, others and their environment, by creating opportunities for safety, interaction and creativity, as a way to offer a sense of relief, hope and the possibility for growth and change.

Myrto currently works for a local authority counselling service as a Youth Counsellor. Her clinical work with children and young people is fuelled by her passion to make

therapy more accessible within youth culture. Myrto also has extensive experience in schools both mainstream and special educational needs, where she has specialised in working therapeutically with adolescents with both moderate and complex learning difficulties. Myrto’s clinical work in schools includes both short-term and long-term therapy, the co-facilitation of therapeutic groups and pastoral care.

Myrto has a background in the visual arts and has facilitated creative groups in a wide variety of educational and cultural settings. She continues to explore creativity as a tool for self-expression and for improving one's social and emotional wellbeing both within her work as a psychotherapist and as an artistic facilitator and educator.

Myrto has an MA in Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling from Terapia, London. She has an Advanced Diploma in the Therapeutical and Educational application of the Arts from the Institute for Arts and Therapy in Education, London. She has a BA (Hons) in Illustration from the University of the Arts London. Myrto is accredited by the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP).
