Retta trained as an integrative child psychotherapist and began working with children in an inner-London primary school with the charity Place 2 Be. She has spent the last 4 years working with families impacted by a parent’s drug or alcohol misuse in Islington, undertaking one-to-one parenting work, couple and family work and individual work with children and adolescents; she also runs training for professionals in the borough. She recently spent time in the States on a travelling fellowship, researching different approaches to educating and supporting children and families affected by addiction. Retta supervises trainee child psychotherapists undertaking Mother and Baby Observations as part of their training. Previously she worked as a writer, editor and performer.

Qualifications: Retta has an MA in Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling, a BA in English Literature and Language and an MA in Creative Writing. She is accredited by The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Specialisations: Substance misuse, adolescents, family work, supervision.
